Attorney Profile

Samuel was born in Augusta, Georgia and lived within a half mile of the Augusta National Golf Course until leaving for the University of Georgia. In college, Samuel was on the Honors Program and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He majored in Political Science in preparation for law school and served as an adjunct professor at Augusta College and Paine College.

Samuel was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1974 and is admitted to practice before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Southern District of Georgia, and the Middle District of Georgia.

Samuel is a Life Member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and served as vice president from 1987 to 1995.

Samuel served as Judge of the Greene County Magistrate Court from 1983 to 1985 and as a contract Public Defender for Greene County from 1985 to 1987.

Samuel has been a member of the Lions Club for over 20 years and has served as President of the Greensboro Lions Club and the Thomson Lions Club.

Samuel took advantage of his background in political science to win election as a delegate to the 1988 Republican National Convention in New Orleans where he served on the Credentials Committee. Samuel was elected as 10th District Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party in 1989.
